The ruins of Alonso de Leon’s Hacienda, where Juan Bautista Chapa lived when he first arrived in Nuevo Leon.




Albisola: it is 1370 steps from the beach to Juan Bautista’s grandfather’s home, then 65 steps to the top of a medieval bridge and another 210 steps to Juan Bautista’s birthplace, you then turn the corner and take 165 steps to the Cathedral: Albisola, with less than 1000 people, has had two Popes. Inside, the font where Juan Bautista Chapa was baptised: his birth record in 1621 to 1634 archives.

Cadiz: where the Juan Bautista lived from the age of 13 to 19. In 1647 Juan Bautista set sail from Cadiz to Veracruz: he arrived in Nuevo Leon in 1650 to begin his new life.
